Rockhampton Showgrounds came alive in September and October 2009 when over 900 RV’s descended on the town to celebrate our 24th National Rally.
The city of Rockhampton and its residents were most hospitable hosts and as usual there was something for everyone, with an extensive variety of trade exhibitions, craft, seminars, tours and entertainment on offer. There were singers, bush poets, silent movies, and of course the Rally Ball. Naturally, the theme of this Ball was the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and while dressing up wasn’t for everyone, there were plenty of colourful corsets and wacky wigs about, and not many passed up the opportunity to do the time-warp again! During the Rally a plethora of information was presented, with many useful seminars covering all sorts of RV subjects.
Thanks to our Rally Manager and the numerous volunteers that helped ensure another successful Rally.
The next Rally will be held in Carrick Tasmania in mid March to celebrate the 24th Anniversary of CMCA. Then it’s on to Port Macquarie in October for the 25th National Rally.
Did you know? 
Although the Rallies are primarily Member events, the general public are welcome to attend on the Saturday of the Rally, so anyone to enter and learn more about our Club and the RV lifestyle. If you live near an upcoming Rally site, feel free to drop in, or contact NHQ for more information on the open day. Additionally, many people join our Club to learn more about the lifestyle before purchasing a motorhome, therefore we also allow Members to attend one Rally in a tent or a caravan.
