Kandanga is located in the beautiful Mary Valley in the Gympie Region, just an hour north of Brisbane. It is one of many charming country towns along the Mary Valley scenic drive offering views of the rich patchwork of agricultural land.
Volunteer groups have given new life to Kandanga’s historic buildings. The Kandanga Hotel, a restored Queenslander, overlooks the railway bridge where platform markets are held at Kandanga’s historic station on Wednesdays and Sundays, coinciding with the arrival of the Valley Rattler steam train. The Valley offers many opportunities to sample quality local produce at the farm gate or during a visit to its boutique wineries and cafés. The beautiful natural surroundings lend themselves to great outdoor activities such as horseriding; bushwalking, fishing and canoe trips on Lake Borumba.
Casual parking is accessible at Kandanga Amamoor Road, close to the retail centre where you will find most services, shopping facilities and eateries. Longer parking (48hrs) is available at Kandanga RV Park or Cedar Grove Camping Area, Amamoor State Forest.
