Tiaro is a small town set on the Mary River 27 kilometres south of Maryborough, approximately 50 metres off the Bruce Highway. It is predominantly a timber and farming community, however its location on the Queensland Coastal Highway makes it a popular destination for travellers.
The Royal Hotel is known in the Maryborough Fraser Coast region as an excellent venue for live music. Monthly jam sessions are held on the first Saturday of the month and are a very popular event.
The hotel serves meals and also has an adjoining bottle shop. Potable water, free hot and cold showers, a bbq area and free parking (48hr) are available at the Tiaro Memorial Park.
