Jimbour is a tiny town 27km north from Dalby and 238 km north-west of Brisbane. Set on a hill above the town is Jimbour House, which was originally the centrepiece of Jimbour Station, a large pastoral holding, taking in most of the area from the Bunya Mountains to Macalister.
A prominent feature is the Jimbour Tractor, a 1912 Clayton & Shuttleworth. This was the first tractor to farm the Jimbour Plain. The town has a primary school, post office, butchery and town hall that is open for community functions. Opera@Jimbour is a biennial event held in the Amphitheatre at Jimbour House in conjunction with the Queensland Music Festival.
