Kenilworth is a relaxed, country town with approximately 300 residents in the heart of the Mary Valley that was settled in 1850. It was the first town to have a reticulated water supply and become completely sewered.

Kenilworth Bluff, Mount Walli and the Blackall and Conondale Ranges provide a majestic, tranquil backdrop and bushwalking is popular in the state forest. Other attractions include the Cheese, Wine and Food Festival, Quilt and Craft Show, Annual Show and Rodeo and the Kenilworth Celebrates Art Festival. The Mary Valley Scarecrow Festival is held annually during September and October. This is an interesting time to visit and see the efforts locals go to filling the town with scarecrows.

Ample camping and parking are available in and around the township but larger vehicles may need to park near the park and Cheese Factory in Charles Street. Potable water is available from the town supply and a dump point is at Kenilworth Hall and Showgrounds on Maleny Road. The Kenilworth Information and Community Access Centre is at 9 Elizabeth Street.
