Why Motorhoming?

LET ME TELL YOU WHY!

Thinking back to some of the motels we've stayed in during our earlier travels, we remember some good, some not so good and some really bad.

Now when we travel, we stay in a luxury suite. The bedroom boasts a queen-size bed with fine percale sheets and four thick feather pillows. Next to the bed is a selection of magazines and books for bedtime reading. The bathroom, complete with shower and tub, has oversized fluffy, thick designer towels and a white terry robe.

The suite includes hardwood floors and Corian counters in the kitchen nook, complete with microwave and refrigerator. The refrigerator is already stocked with wine and our favourite beverages. A VCR and a choice of videos are available. A bouquet of fresh flowers sits on the table.

Our suite is even better than a suite at the Ritz Carlton, because our suite is on eight wheels and travels to wherever we choose, moving with the seasons. We pick the climates that appeal to us.

Many of our friends and relatives were sceptical when we told them we were purchasing our first motorhome and planning to travel full-time across the country. When they saw our 36-foot motorhome barely squeezed into our driveway, their first question was "Why?"

Top 10 reasons to travel in a motorhome:

  • When we get hungry, we just pull over and fix lunch.
  • Our nice, CLEAN bathroom is with us wherever we go without searching for rest areas.
  • We always have the right clothes for whatever season or unexpected temperature change.
  • No more paying nightly motel rates and costly motel taxes.
  • No more arriving at the motel and finding you forgot to pack some of your essentials.
  • No crowded airports, security checks, overbooked flights or lost luggage.
  • We can visit friends and relatives with less impact on their privacy and hospitality.
  • No more juggling suitcases, bags and coats to motel rooms located up a flight of stairs and down two hallways from the car. No more packing, unpacking, packing and repacking at each stop.
  • We have the best scenic view through our 44 square foot picture window, compared to the six-square foot view through a car windshield.
  • We can see all the wonders of America from the comfort of our own home.
