Unforgettable
The Gods were smiling on the second of November
Giving Josie and John a day to remember.
Theirs was a wedding so perfect in every way
With plenty of surprises throughout the day.
Thirty guests and a celebrant too
Watched the lovely bride dressed in blue.
The bridal group arrived not by car
But on a motor bike! Well after all it wasn’t too far.
The altar was set in a garden under the sun
Change a thing? No not a one!
Happily the celebrant did his stuff
And knowing the couple this wasn’t tough.
When it was time to exchange golden rings
A solemn moment of quietness this always brings.
John asks the love of his life
“Josie will you be my wife?”
Every ear was waiting for the bride to say “I do”
And every eye was looking at the couple too.
But Josie with her cheeky smile
Answered, “can I wait a while?”
No one had the slightest doubt
Josie’s true feelings would win out.
“Yes John I would be happy to be your wife
And as long as we live to share your life.”
Pretending the ring would not fit his bride’s finger
He allowed his hand in hers to linger.
Now it was his turn to have some fun
“I suggested you go on a diet!” Thinking he had won.
“I love you John!” and her words said it all
Naturally John grinned and stood very tall.
At last the loving couple were joined together
It was a perfect ceremony just like the weather.
In the Paradise Room a feast was held, fit for a king
The ambience and food lacked not a thing.
Friends like Josie and John are so rare
Wanting their home and happiness to share.
Seventeen guests stayed the night
Playing cards and getting tight.
The ‘Honeymoon’ was put on hold
This was the couple’s choice, so I’m told.
