Beautiful Bingara

Far from smog enshrouded cities
And high rise buildings of the coast.
We were delighted with the choice of the ‘Gwydir’,
With ‘Bingara’ for our Rally host.

Nestled midst the beautiful nor' western slopes
With its rural friendly laid back atmosphere.
Where they catered for our every need,
With first class meals - and ice cold beer.

Her floral bedecked main shopping street,
Nurtured in a decorative array.
Alongside the tranquil Gwydir River,
Makes ‘Bingara’ a perfect holiday.

Their medical centre cared for our health,
Open for specialised consultation each day.
Treating illness and dressing wounds
In a most proficient way.

A visit to the magnificent Roxy Theatre,
Majestically dominating Bingara’s main street.
Heritage buildings adorned with excellent murals
Give the shopping centre - a special treat.

Her picturesque blue distant hills,
Where ironbark and cypress pine trees thrive.
Discover the tranquillity of the ‘Gwydir’
A landscape artist paradise.

One can fossick through old mine tailings
Of nineteenth century, history tumbled down.
And the old ‘Battery Stamper’ stands defiant,
In this once rich gold bearing town.

Bingara the gem centre of the nor' west slopes,
With her once, rich diamond find.
And her generosity, retains that wealth
With gems of the human kind.

We'd like to thank the Bingara population,
In the shire of the Gwydir valley.
For being such a wonderful host,
For our twenty-third motorhome Rally.
