CMCA Chapters
The first chapter formed was in Sydney on 8th February 1987 and was named "Sydney Wanderers" A week later another chapter was formed in Newcastle and this was "Hunter Coastal Wanderers".
At the present time, there are 89 chapters throughout Australia, and increasing, representing every State and Territory. Most chapters get together on a regular basis during the year and details of venues and dates, plus chapter contacts, are published in the "Calendar" and " Chapter Contacts" segments of the club magazine - The Wanderer, as well as on the web site.
The Solos
Within the Club there is a Solos' network specifically for those members who travel alone for the majority of time. This network was originally conceived to encourage and give support to members who lose their partners and wish to continue within the CMCA, and still be fully active participating members. This includes participating in chapter activities and attending rallies. Other Solo members are single people and single parents.
CMCA Rallies
The Club conducts two National Rallies in any one year. In April we celebrate the anniversary of the Club's formation, and in October we hold the Club's Annual General Meeting and take reports on Club activities and sub-committees.
Both Rallies have special interest group activities, trade exhibitors, Disc Bowling Competitions, Open Days and much more.
The first National Rally was held in October 1986 in conjunction with the Sydney Motor Show at the Sydney Showground. Some 40 vehicles drove in procession and parked in display formation for the public to inspect. In May 1987 at the first Anniversary Rally at Swansea, 150km north of Sydney, 61 vehicles checked into the Swansea Gardens Tourist Park.
The CMCA's National and Anniversary Birthday rallies now attract between 1000 to 1400+ vehicles.
The Organisation
A Board of Directors, comprising five elected members, sets the policy goals and objectives. The National Headquarters staff, under the leadership of the Clubs General Manager, attend to the day to day affairs of the club. The club has a specially-tailored vehicle insurance scheme underwritten by Lumley General Insurance.

The Wanderer's Pledge
To unite in a bond of friendship, good fellowship, and mutual understanding.
To hold a member's friendship as an end not as a means.
To bear in mind my obligations as a citizen of my nation.
To aid my fellow members, give sympathy to those in distress, and to help in time of need.
To travel our beautiful country taking nothing but photographs and leaving nothing but tyre tracks and footprints.
To be careful with my criticism and liberal with my praise.
