Chapters

To increase the opportunity to meet together, Members have formed local Chapters throughout Australia. All financial Club Members can attend any Chapter activity, and, if they so wish, can elect to support a particular Chapter. At the present time, there are 93 Chapters throughout Australia , and increasing, representing every state and territory.

Solos' Network

More about the Solos

A 'Solo' is:

  • a person whose membership is registered in one name only. This is on the Club’s documentation including membership and renewal forms.
  • a person who travels alone in their vehicle for more than 60% of the time.
  • a lone parent with children would be eligible for Solo Membership.

The Objectives of the Solos' network

To encourage single Members and Members who lose their partners to begin to, or continue to, enjoy the lifestyle:

  • to continue to enjoy the fundamental ideals of the CMCA of Fun, Friendship, Fellowship, and Camaraderie.
  • to give and receive support from the membership, not only of the Solos network, but of the Club as a whole.
  • to encourage Solos to make contact with other Solos .
  • to encourage Solos to enjoy all aspects of the CMCA including Chapter meetings and National Rallies.

Communications

The main communication is by a newsletter posted to Members of the network at frequent intervals. Notices appear in The Wanderer and on The Club’s website. There is also a 'Contact Register', as well as a geographic listing and itinerary of the Solos’ network Members.

Finance

To cover the costs of printing and postage there is a small annual fee. This is set at a general meeting of the Solos network, and may vary from time to time as needs arise.

Meetings, Gatherings and Rallies

At the present time the Solos are conducting rallies immediately prior to, and in close proximity, to each of the National Rallies. Other gatherings, safaris and/or convoys may be arranged from time to time, and are advertised in The Wanderer and the Solos' newsletter.

If you are a CMCA Member and consider you meet the above criteria , then please write or phone any of the Solos listed on the Contacts page or contact CMCA National Headquarters.

Charity Safari

This safari is conducted on behalf of CMCA and Australian Motorhomes. The underlying principle of a Charity Safari is to have a great time seeing parts of Australia off the normal track and sharing these adventures with like minded fellow CMCA Members. Along the way there will be non-stop laughter and frivolity, and it’s all in the name of a good cause, with participants raising money for worthwhile charities as they journey.

CMCA Member Safaris

CMCA Member Safaris will be run on a regular basis within all states and will follow a specific theme. The events will be approximately 15 days duration, and are a wonderful way to meet other Members with similar interests. Suggestions for Safari themes include lawn bowling, golfing expeditions, waterfall explorations and visits to historic goldfields. Participants must be Full or Associate financial Members of CMCA and there is no restriction on the type of recreational vehicle used.
